Using the as an alternate means to a traditional clas excersise was not harder nor was it easier or more liberating it simply was just different. The reason being the instructor had the same expectations of the class as if it the blogs were a traditional assignment with the exclusion of getting points for hyperlinks. I believe with a revised grading checklist, the blogging system for doing a class assignments could have great success as portal to greater understanding popular culture.
This could be accomplished by streamlining the video process that was experimented at the end of calss onto the blogs and by grading the actual appearance of the blogs. Blogger itself is limiting in how a person can idividulize their blogs making it diffcult to customize it ,often adding bugs that can completly shut down a persons blog who decides to customize it, which happened to myself and another classmate. If this class truly wants to mimick popular culture to gain a better understanding a new venue needs to be found perhaps myspace, face book or whatever the most current trend supports.
